In February 1998 my husband and I arrived from South Africa, and my brother and his wife from the UK, came on holiday to Australia. Our youngest daughter had emigrated here 3 years previously. Someone in South Africa told us we had to go to Fraser Island and we asked our daughter to book us a trip there, which she did through The Flight Centre. This was a 5 day camping tour with Tony Bright as our guide. Brian and I are ?bush? people and used to camping but I think my sister in law was dubious about the tenting!
However, that only lasted until the tent was erected and from then on she agrees that it was one of the best things she has done (and they are well traveled)
We then had the most wonderful 5 days. Made special by Tony with his wealth of knowledge about the ecology and the Aboriginal people who originally lived there.
Brian and I now live here in Australia having immigrated 3 years ago and recently have taken up citizenship. We have a 4x4 and caravan and have been as far north in Queensland as Rockhampton and over the west to north of Perth. Next month we leave our home in Echuca and go to Wilpena Pound (to fly over Lake Eyre), Coober Pedy, Uluru, Alice, Darwin and all points west. Next year is Cape Yorke. We intend to leave the ?van in Cairns and take a tented tour north. Do you go up there?
I was clearing out some papers today and came across the form given to travelers as they left Tony, which we were supposed to fill in and return. Somewhat late, we can all say that the 5 days were a wonderful experience ? I can?t remember any of us disliking anything. I have had a look on your web site and see that you are still taking people to wonderful place.
Thank you in retrospect
