Moreton Island Beach/Track Conditions

Due to all the rain at the moment the tracks on Moreton are very good. Very few soft spots were encountered yesterday, with no dramas at all getting to The Desert, and the North Point Road very good as well. The East Coast had about 3ft of swell rolling in, a few clean waves in amongst the slop. North Point or Boulders would be the pick of surf spots at the moment. The tides are fairly small, with highs of around 1.9m during the night, and 1.4 during the day.

Swallowtail and whiting are being taken along the East Coast on fresh beach worms, while tarwine and bream are being caught off North Point, and also near Yellowpatch. Some mackerel and tuna are also being taken out in the channel near the markers - just watch out for the birds and have your rod rigged with a small metal slug.

Also, please be aware that the Bulwer shop is now closed on Wednesdays.
