Well, if it's not a cyclone then it's an oil spill. Things certainly have been tough these past few weeks, but slowly everything is getting back to normal. Fraser Island is fully operational, with all tours departing on their usual days.
Moreton Island is still affected by the oil spill, and despite the fact that some parts of the Island are open, our tours are still suspended until we can access the East Coast and our campsite at Blue Lagoon. National Parks and the EPA are expected to reopen the Island by next Monday the 23rd of March. How the Island and it's natural beauty will be affected over the next few years is hard to say, although to see the pictures of the beautiful Honeymoon Bay coated in a thick black sludge was devastating. Nature is a resilient beast, so we'll just have to wait and see.
